Simon Buck

Born in 1969 in Radolfzell on Lake Constance, I began my career with an apprenticeship as a bank clerk and financial assistant on the island of Reichenau. After studying politics, business administration and public law, I held various positions in strategic communications consultancy and the financial services sector. I became increasingly aware of the need for independent, scientifically based financial advice.

Driven by this conviction, together with Christian Rump I founded the BuckAdvice Fee-Only Financial Advice in Berlin. As a certified fee-only financial adviser, I help investors pursue a long-term, disciplined investment strategy. My passion for translating the findings of capital market research into plain language led to my book, published by Campus Verlag in 2026: Needle or Haystack. Simple Investing in a Complex World.

In addition to my advisory work, I am an active speaker, a member of Lions Club Berlin, an enthusiastic rower, and a dedicated family man. Together with my wife and our four children, I enjoy the diversity of Berlin as much as outdoor and sporting activities in the natural surroundings of Brandenburg.

Why I work with Neunundvierzig

I have known Dr. Nikolaus Braun and Stefan Heringer for many years and greatly value their clear, science-based approach to financial advice and their expertise in building their company. In an industry that is often shaped by short-term thinking and commission-driven incentives, we share the conviction that only evidence-based investment strategies that do not rely on forecasts can deliver sustainable long-term success.

I am therefore delighted that, since July 2025, we have further aligned our expertise, processes, and advisory approach by working more closely together through my collaboration with Christian Rump at BuckAdvice Fee-Only Financial Advice. Our goal is to make rational and relevant wealth advisory services accessible to a broader audience. To that end, we regularly exchange ideas and coordinate with our colleagues at Neunundvierzig, whether through workshops, joint client meetings, or events.
